AFFORDABLE HOMES UNDER DEVELOPMENT

270 Centre
New construction at the corner of Lamartine and Centre Streets of 30 affordable apartments and 5,000 square feet for neighborhood retail. Anticipated completion: Early 2011. 270 Centre is classic "transit-oriented development" in its mix of uses, location at a major transit node and inclusion of many "green" or sustainable design features. Blessed Sacrament Church and parish properties
Redevelopment by JPNDC and New Atlantic Development Corporation of this closed Hyde Square parish with 118 homes at a range of affordability levels, plus neighborhood retail and community space. Estimated completion of first 81 homes: Early 2011.

Jackson Square Revitalization Initiative
A partnership among JPNDC, Urban Edge, Hyde Square Task Force and Mitchell Properties to transform Jackson Square with more than 300 new homes, new green and recreational space, a new plaza and pedestrian-friendly improvements. Estimated start for first phase of infrastructure improvements: Spring 2010.

Families excluded from the private market have become homeowners on Lamartine Street thanks to affordable housing development by the JPNDC.
