Hundreds of Boston homes and businesses were bulldozed to make way for an eight-lane extension of I-95
Local residents stopped the project
Working with the newly-formed JPNDC they got to work healing the scar.
JPNDC is part of a team that is working to complete Jackson Square's revitalization by creating a vital and equitable community
JACKSON SQUARE: WHERE IT ALL COMES TOGETHER
If you want to understand the JPNDC’s mission, take a look at Jackson Square. It’s where community organizing, affordable housing, small business opportunity
and family prosperity all come together.
All for a more inclusive community.
One of the largest community-driven urban development projects in the United States, the Master Plan for the Jackson Square Redevelopment Area will include:
300 new homes
An indoor recreation center & outdoor community space
Storefront and office space for local entrepreneurs
Buildings that exceed national green standards.
The JPNDC is responsible for the largest part of Jackson Square’s redevelopment, a five acre parcel called Site III. Click here to see our Site III presentation from the June 30, 2016 BRA community meeting.
75 Amory Ave: 39 affordable apartments
A new community plaza and green space
New space for retail and offices (in partnership with TCB)
