Major areas of responsibility: Building partnerships with organizations and community residents to develop leadership, power, equity, and financial mobility among individuals in Boston who have been systematically underrepresented and underserved, driving advocacy and policy initiatives targeting structural improvements to economic mobility pathways that are lacking in status quo housing and services arenas.

Relevant background: I graduated from Simmons University with dual degrees in Political Science and Africana Studies. I worked in development at NARAL Pro-Choice MA for 2.5 years. My background in political organizing comes from my work on the campaigns of Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and State Senator, Becca Rausch. Prior to joining JPNDC, I worked as a community engagement coordinator for ASG, a multicultural marketing company.

  • What inspires me: My lived experience as a low-income, immigrant, black woman growing up in communities plagued by violence and generational poverty but united by an unmatched environment of creativity, community, and culture. Oftentimes, the difference between a weathered, under-educated, person in poverty and a person who has overcome race and income based generational inequity, is access to support and resources. I intend to always position myself in spaces that allow me to mitigate that difference and ensure that people in underserved populations get access to the resources they need to overcome the racial equity gap.
  • What I like: DIY Projects, annoying my cats, ziplining, reading, finding cool new restaurants in Mass.
