About Jailynn Caraballo

Title: Associate Director of Communications

Year started at JPNDC: 2024

Major areas of responsibility: Building and executing the social media strategy, website maintenance, fundraising and general events, sharing success stories.

Relevant background: I graduated from Quinnipiac University with dual degrees in Journalism and Political Science. I graduated from Emerson College with an M.A in Political Communication. I have worked at several non-profit organizations throughout the years, both building out and maintaining their social media, website, and curating their media presence. I worked at School + State Finance Project, their mission was to create an equitably funded school system for all children in the state of Connecticut. I worked at EquityCT, an organization that fights to create engaged and educated communities in lower income and marginalized areas in Connecticut. I worked at Archipelago Strategies group, a multicultural marketing organization that focused on building up clients amongst the various diverse sectors of media here in the Boston area. I worked at Leadership Brainery, an organization that prides itself on creating resources for underrepresented individuals interested in seeking a Graduate school degree.

  • What inspires me: I have a deep-seeded passion for advocacy. I have always worked to provide a voice for those who have been historically excluded. The world is an unjust place and very specific groups – those of color, those of lower socio-economic status, immigrants, and much more – have been silenced and historically victimized. I specifically seek out organizations that are doing the work to amplify the voices of those who need it and work towards a better future. I am excited to be at JPNDC, an organization that does so much to provide holistic and well-rounded support to our clients.
  • What I like: Taking long walks – especially by the Charles River or the Boston Common Community Garden, trying new food in the Boston area, reading, yoga.
