Relevant background: Mike has proudly called Jamaica Plain home for more than 20 years. He joined the JPNDC Board of Directors in December 2023 and currently serves as Senior Advisor to Boston City Councilor Ben Weber, representing District 6, which includes Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury.

Before earning both an MA and an MBA from Brandeis University in 2020, Mike spent more than 15 years as a teacher and nonprofit education leader. One of the highlights of his career was creating a civic engagement program that empowered high school students to identify the issues they cared about and advocate directly with their state legislators. Those experiences, and especially what he learned from his students, helped lead him to JPNDC.

Mike believes that Boston’s disparities in wealth, housing, education, and opportunity are the result of policy choices, and that creating a more equitable city requires intentional action. As his connection to Jamaica Plain has deepened, so has his commitment to strengthening the community. For Mike, JPNDC is one of the best places to help make that happen.
